Medical Problems and Joining

Joining w/Med issue

I am a 26-year-old male who is interested in joining the Air Force. I began my weight loss journey at 430 pounds, and as of today, I weigh 330 pounds after 8 months.
When I started my journey, I was taking 40 mg of lisinopril for high blood pressure. Due to my weight loss and improved health, my dosage has been reduced to 20 mg.
I am also currently taking a GLP-1 medication because I was pre-diabetic when I began my weight loss journey.
In 2018, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I never used the equipment, because I couldn’t afford it.
My main question is whether, based on my progress and medical history, you think I have a realistic chance of being accepted into the Air Force.
My plan is to speak with a recruiter once I reach 280 pounds. Around that time, I also hope to work with my doctor to determine whether I can safely discontinue my medications. I would ultimately like to apply for a commission as an officer, as I have earned a master’s degree.
