Posters and limits?

So I have always been under the impression that it's always been one poster per person.
Not one of each variant... tonight I had a crew of five with me and none wanted a poster, so me being the collector I am saw a perfect opportunity to score all five posters in one shot and be done with it for the week...
I told the mech person I had five people with me and wanted one of each poster and that I had five people in my party...
She laughed and was like you don't need five people... you can one of each variant ,... I was like are you sure? 50+ phish shows and never heard the posters being sold this way... I got a set (legitimately)and than saw so many other grab all five, any one else notice this tonight ?
