AI Dilemma

I hope I’m in the right subreddit here…

So, my partner is an illustrator and I am a musician. Here in our local town there is a huge arts organization hosting an “Art by the River” festival. Tons of artists, vendors, a weekend, the works. We both got in - him to sell his prints, and I am playing music.

The organization started posting “artist spotlights” on social media introducing the artists and their styles and backgrounds. Lo and behold… every. single. poster. is. AI. generated.

Naturally I’m disgusted and immediately wanted to reach out to withdraw my participation. My partner however, paid a few hundred bucks to vend here. He loses all that money if he quits.

So, idk what to do here. Obviously AI is the worst. But we’re vexed if we should keep participating in this event knowing this is the organization’s practice. Money could be lost, it all feels so deceiving and gross. Halp!
