Scholarship Disbursement
I was awarded another scholarship that I believe is considered a last-dollar scholarship that pays upto $10,000. The Hagan Scholarship Particulars says "The Hagan Scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with another last-dollar scholarship", I'm planning to prioritize the other scholarship's disbursment over Hagans'.
I'm also worried because of the new 2026–27 FAFSA/Pell rules. If my non-federal scholarships and grants equal or exceed my school's cost of attendance, I could lose my Pell Grant. Since Hagan is a last-dollar scholarship that can pay 5k out of its max 7k to fill the remaining gap to equal my COA, I'm concerned about how the two scholarships interact and whether receiving a Hagan disbursement could affect my Pell eligibility.
Has anyone here gone through this before? If so, how did you notify Hagan? Did you simply email them and ask them not to issue a disbursement?
