Which Bloodthirster option to use?

Hello all,

I'm getting into demons and I won a Bloodthirster from an event at my local store. It comes with two options for putting it on the base, but I'm not sure which one to use. The shorter one looks less likely to break, but the connection point between the giant model and the base seems rather small and awkward to glue down. The taller flame looks like there is a lot more to hold into the base, but I've heard it breaks a lot.

Which one is traditionally better? I'd rather not spend hours painting him just to have him break lol.
