If someone says “Hola” to you, do they most likely assume you’re probably Hispanic or is it a common greeting to non hispanics also?

how common is it for Mexican people to say hola to white/non Hispanics in LA as a very first greeting? I’m new here and my first interaction with a fellow tenant she said Hola. I’m not sure if I look white despite being half white
