I'm Choosing NIT meta over ECE in IIIT

In terms subject interest, for me it's ECE > Meta.

BUT...

CONS of IIIT naya Raipur:

(Indian International institute of info. Technology)

1. 0 placements for btech ECE (no ece companies visited)

2. total on campus placement was 48 out of 179 students ( for cse and dsai)

3. most ece grads go for mtech there. But if i later don't want to do mtech I'll be jobless (probably).

4. 2015 institute, alumini network weak.

5. it's NOT a standard iiit , it's state funded.

This iiit tag will NOT help in off campus placement (non core) , makes it Difficult to land on a job after graduation.

6. will Cost me approx 14Lakh for college (including everything)

So my only option will be to do GATE, and if that's the end goal, I can prepare for it from studying in any tier 3 College with half the Fees.

In NIT RAIPUR Metallurgy.

Subject may not be my interest BUT.

1. Off campus placements will be easier.

2. more free time to up skill non core

3. More companies visit, more chance.

4. Strong alumini Network, useful for Off campus placement.

5. NIT tag, better peer group.

6. Safety net of a core job with avg 9-10 lpa in psu with less competition in GATE.
