One Drill Program, Three Jobs: How Minaurum Silver's (MGG.v MMRGF) 50,000 m Phase II at Alamos Splits Between Expanding Three Resource Veins, Two Extension Targets, and First-Ever Resource Drilling at Quintera and San Jose, All Feeding the H2 2026 Update
Posted on behalf of Minaurum Silver - A 50,000-metre drill program usually gets quoted as one big number, but the design tells you more than the meterage. Phase II at the 100%-owned Alamos Silver Project in Sonora, Mexico (MGG.v MMRGF) launched in December 2025, and the six core rigs turning there are really doing three distinct jobs at once, all feeding the updated resource estimate SGS is preparing for the second half of 2026 (see July 14, 2026 NR).
Job One: Grow the Three Resource Veins
- The initial inferred resource of 5.37 Mt grading 320 g/t AgEq (202 g/t silver, 0.21 g/t gold, 0.43% copper, 0.97% lead, 2.01% zinc), containing 55.2 Moz AgEq (34.8 Moz silver, 35,640 oz gold, 51.0 Mlbs copper, 115 Mlbs lead, 238 Mlbs zinc), covers portions of just 3 of the 26 identified vein zones (see Jan 28, 2026 MRE news release)
- Phase II is drilling those three zones, Europa, Promontorio and Travesia, and testing their extensions along strike and down plunge
Job Two: Drill the Extensions
- Promontorio Sur and Europa Sur are the two named extension targets
- Europa Sur is already delivering: hole AL26-207 returned 3.65 m of 888 g/t AgEq (713 g/t silver, 0.33 g/t gold, 1.03% copper, 1.52% lead, 2.64% zinc), and the zone sits outside the current estimate (see July 8, 2026 NR)
Job Three: First Resource Drilling at Quintera and San Jose
- Neither vein has ever been in a resource estimate
- Quintera: 5.95 m of 1,117 g/t AgEq (953 g/t silver, 0.04 g/t gold, 1.21% copper, 1.58% lead, 0.41% zinc) in hole AL26-215 (see July 8, 2026 NR)
- San Jose: a wide 8.5 m of 111 g/t AgEq (80 g/t silver, 0.05% copper, 0.08% lead, 0.21% zinc) in hole AL26-200 (same release)
All three jobs converge on the same catalyst, the SGS-prepared resource update due in H2 2026. And with 26 mapped vein zones across the 37,928-hectare district, the veins this program touches are still only a slice of the map, which leaves room for Alamos to run this same playbook again after the update lands. The July 14 news release lays out the full program design and the SGS engagement, worth a read ahead of the number.
