Safety of Crossing Pulaski Bridge

Hello everyone! I’m thinking about moving to Greenpoint however because my job is by Grand Central I would need to take the 7 every day meaning I would need to cross the Pulaski Bridge day and night. I wanted to get some opinions on whether this bridge is safe to walk during the day and at night? As a woman I don’t always feel safe in NY but I’ve heard good things about Greenpoint’s safety and the nice neighborhood. The only thing keeping me from signing the lease is that I’m not familiar with the bridge (especially late at night) and taking the 7 from the Vernon Blvd-Jackson Av. Any advice and opinions are greatly appreciated!!
