No audio at all for steam game.

Well, I finally did it. I moved away from Windows on my game machine and installed Debian 13 and Steam. I've gotten all the issues resolved except one. I have no audio for the game (playing Fallout 76). I've got a TV hooked up to my game box via HDMI and have been running sound through that for a quite a while when it was Windows, but Steam on Debian doesn't seem to like it. I can play music and videos just fine, but nothing from the game. I've done a bunch of digging and tried various approaches to no avail so I'm here hoping to gain some wisdom from all of you. TIA
