Recent CSE Graduate Feeling Lost – Job Hunt vs Government Exams. Need Honest Advice.
Hi everyone,
I'm a recent Computer Science graduate from India, and honestly, I'm feeling quite lost right now.
I graduated without getting placed, and over the past few months I've realized that my technical skills aren't strong enough to confidently crack software interviews. I know this is something I need to improve, but I'm unsure whether I should continue investing months into development or focus on a different path.
Recently, I've also started preparing for government exams (SSC and similar exams). but lately I've been losing confidence in that path as well due to the uncertainty surrounding government recruitment. Now I'm unsure where to invest my time.
A few questions for people who've been in a similar situation:
- If you graduated without strong technical skills, how did you eventually get your first job?
- Is the IT market really improving for freshers, or is it still as difficult as it seems?
- If you had to start from scratch today, what would you prioritize?
- Has anyone here switched from IT preparation to government exams (or vice versa)? Was it worth it?
I'm not looking for sympathy just honest opinions from people who've experienced this or have seen others go through it.
Thanks in advance.
