Contributing more in the household
Problem/Goal: I want to contribute more (financial-wise) in the household. So I want to look for a part-time job / side hustle on the weekends
Context:
My mom is already retired and currently lives on her monthly pension. My two sisters and I still live with her, and we each contribute around ₱6k–₱7k per month, so our total household contribution is around ₱18k–₱21k monthly. That's all we can comfortably contribute for now since we also need to set aside for our own savings.
We've been tracking our household expenses for the past three months, and just tonight we estimated that our monthly expenses are around ₱55k (utilities, groceries, subscriptions, etc.). Most of our spending actually goes to food (bought from palengke and supermarket) and utilities (electric bill is around ₱8k–₱13k) .
We barely spend on non-essentials—less than ₱5k a month, including the occasional takeout. Subcriptions are less than ₱1k/month in total (netflix and spotify family).
This made me realize that instead of focusing only on cutting expenses, maybe we should also look for ways to increase our income. The challenge is that we all already have full-time jobs aside from my mom who is already retired.
So I wanted to ask if you have any recommendations for weekend side hustles. I'm just not sure what options are available that aren't too demanding and time consuming.
Previous attempts: I tried looking for part-time work on Jobstreet and LinkedIn but mostly applications are for VA, ESL Teachers, Financial Advisor, and Data Encoder
