My theory about time
Title: Question/Thought Experiment: Was there only "Present & Future" at the moment of the Big Bang if time equals change?
Body:
Hi everyone,
I was thinking about the concept of time before/during the Big Bang and wanted to share a thought experiment to see if this logic aligns with current physics models.
Time as a Measure of Change: If everything in the universe was completely still or in a singular state before movement/expansion started, "Past" and "Present" were indistinguishable because no change occurred (T_0 = T_{-1}).
The "Present & Future" Framework: At the precise moment of the Big Bang (Singularity/Start of Expansion):
No Past: There was no recorded state prior to this moment, so "Past" didn't exist yet.
Present: The static/singular starting point itself.
Future: The potential states and expanding timelines that opened up once movement began.
So, instead of thinking "time didn't exist at all," is it valid to view it as time existing in a dormant state made of only Present (the state) + Future (the potential), where the Past was only created after entropy and movement actually started?
Would love to hear how physicists view this visual perspective!
