Love is not meant to be painful- Never allow a man to mistreat you
There is a general rule that YOU are responsible for draeing boundaries with other people. Your husband, your colleagues, your friends, you teach them how to treat you by what you tolerate everyday.
Just like if you dont allow your husband to wash the dishes, If you allow someone to mock you, cheat on you, yell at you once, they will repeat it until you tell them them otherwise but by then the boundry is already crossed and its going to be mentally difficult for the culprit to change. The boundary even becomes blurry in their own minds. Then you are already stuck in a toxic environment.
As someone who worked in a toxic environment and was not treated so well in a sitationship. NEVER BE KIND to someone who is unkind to you, islamically it is HARAM because it literally harms you and the cycle of abuse may continue even on your part. It brings put the worst part of you and brings out a lasting depression.
Also NEVER tell your potential partner YOUR PAST OR DESCRIBE HOW POORLY SOMEONE TREATED YOU ONCE. I was literally n an internship and they asked me how it was like working in customer service and the fool i was i described how awful it was working there and they started using that as a green card to act toxic.
Once the boundary is crossed once for the first time, it cad admittitely be difficult to know how to respond. I know the instict can be to act agressively back but thankfully in islam we learn adab. Gather yourself and draw and prepare what youre going to say when you have calmed down. Then if they continue the same behaviour LEAVE. NO DONT LEAVE RUNNNN.
