I’m really disappointed in my mom

For brief context. I’ve been an artist struggling. I had to leave university and have been struggling to find a job for money. It’s been months that I’ve not found a job.

My mom hasn’t really understood the joy, excitement and love of the craft I have for art. Which had been creating comics. The characters, writing and paneling. I never really under since she hasn’t been aggressive or rude about my passion in any way.

She tells me. “I know what you could do. Look at this tik tok I found”. The tik tok was a lady saying and showing how you can make thousands of dollars quickly with ai nursery rhymes on YouTube. They rack up millions of views quickly.

I just told her “maybe” so she wouldn’t yell at me, but I feel angry and sad at the same time. Creating anything with ai goes against what I stand for. Never even used it to write at university. I don’t feel like I can call be happy with myself if I “abuse the craft” like that. I love creating and want to find out how to get money from it so it can be my life, but not with ai.

What do you guys think. Have you experienced something like this before with any parent?
