How I understood relationships are more about getting attracted to a person's energy

I was always confused about myself, me being a guy had never felt to be the masculine type of guy in relationships where I have to be the protector, emotional anchor kind of guy for a woman.

This idea always felt odd and a turn off for me and I had prefer someone who exchanges the same kind of energy rather than the polar opposite one.

Well I don't know if the only way to get attracted to opposite person is through only having the opposite kind of energy but if that's the case then I think I am not made for a romantic relationship at all
