30M | East Coast | Looking for more night owl friends to talk with while working overnights

I miss when making friends online felt... easier.

You'd randomly meet someone, send a few messages, and before you knew it you were talking every day about everything from life goals to the dumbest meme you found five minutes ago. Somewhere along the way, that became a lot harder to find, so I figured I'd try making my own post.

A little about me:

I'm currently finishing a degree in cybersecurity while working as a med tech. It's been a bit of a career pivot after spending years in restaurant management, and for the first time in a while I feel like I'm exactly where I want to be.

Outside of work, I'm the type of person who always has too many hobbies.

Reading (fantasy is my weakness, Sanderson, Malazan, Tolkien, and anything with incredible worldbuilding.

Writing. I actually have the first book in a fantasy series published already and I'm finishing the second.

Gaming on PC, PS5, and Switch. I bounce between RPGs, shooters, co-op games, strategy games, and whatever my friends convince me to install.

Traveling whenever I get the chance. I love exploring new places, trying local food, and finding the hidden spots that don't show up in every travel guide.

Hiking and geocaching. Nothing beats finding a trail you've never been on before.

Cooking and baking. I spent years working in kitchens, so food is definitely one of my love languages.

Binge-watching anime and other TV series. I work overnight now and just play on my phone all night. I need more great shows to get into!

What I'm looking for is pretty simple. Someone who enjoys actual conversations.

Tell me about the project you're obsessed with. The book that changed your perspective. The game you wish you could experience for the first time again. The random fact you learned this week. Or just complain about your day while I tell you about mine.

I'm much more interested in long-term friendships than conversations that disappear after "how are you?"

So instead of just saying "hi," answer one of these: What's the most important song you have heard in your life? If you could instantly master one skill, what would it be? If you had 24 hours of limitless money, but nothing you purchase can be kept beyond that day, what are you spending the day doing?
