I feel guilty

One time i was walking home from church around 7pm when i saw a little girl sitting on a corner by herself(Around 8-9yo and wearing blue dress). I didn't have the courage to walk up to her and ask if she was lost so I walked along, when I finally composed myself and i felt really worried about the girl so I decided to wall back to where she was sat.

But when I came back to the spot she wasn't there anymore, I feel somewhat guilty and worried to what could've happened to her since I knew I could've helped her because I was close to the servants at the church I was at and I could've at least brought her there. I hope she is doing well and reunited with her parents.
