This job market is horrible!
I moved to Las Vegas while working remotely with the goal of eventually buying a home. Then, in May, my company’s creative, marketing, and social media teams were laid off as AI began changing the industry. Since then, finding work has been incredibly difficult. The job market is saturated with talented people all competing for the same positions, and it’s been one of the most challenging periods of my career.
I’ve worked in the creative industry for the past six years, and for the first time, I genuinely feel lost. I’m even questioning whether I need to make a career change. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
It’s discouraging to still be paying off federal student loans after finally paying off my private loans, only to find myself in this position.
If anyone knows of any opportunities in creative, marketing, social media, or video production, I’d be incredibly grateful. I’m also considering bartending to get back on my feet, but breaking into hospitality without direct bartending experience has been challenging.
One thing I’ve learned after living in Las Vegas for two years is that relationships matter. Networking seems to open more doors than submitting applications online. If you have any advice or leads, I’d truly appreciate it.
