Vibe shift between Stargate movie to SG-1

Just did a rewatch of the original stargate movie after having watched most of SG-1 and couldn’t help but notice the Gouald ship, technology, and just overall presence is way more intense and scary compared to SG-1.

Ra’s voice is way deeper and creepier sounding, they speak ancient Egyptian instead of English, and the Jaffa eagle guards look way more realistic. The ship’s decor and ambience are a lot more detailed too.

SG-1 by comparison seems like a downgrade. Obviously the CGi for the stargate, spaceships, etc.. are a lot better but it seems like it lost a lot of soul from the original movie.

What do yall think?
