Is it weird that I think that the tech for cameras and videos is more impressive than AI and self-driving cars?

I honestly don't know where to ask this so I'm doing it here because a small part of me thinks that it's got something to do with when these developments happened. But that's not important. I live in LA, so I've kind of got all of those things in a relatively nearby area. The first time I sat in a Waymo, I wasn't that impressed. Like, it was cool, but ok. But then I watched an interview and a behind the scenes thing for The Odyssey that talked about the IMAX film and stuff and I was way more impressed by that then a car.

So can someone please tell me if that's me being stuck in the past and not really paying attention to the developments today, or if I'm not the only one who thinks like that?
