My PPL DPE gave me a 300 mile xc to an airport across the mountains and on the totally opposite side of a bravo 😭

I have to find waypoints every 10 to 15 miles and use dead reckoning, also. Is this normal? Obviously, we will only fly a short leg, but it's a pain to plan.
