Dear TiMi, please give the next Mythic a custom HUD UI
【Category】 Premium Item Visual Defect / Game Engine Resolution Adaptation Flaw / Feature Request
【Impacted Items】 All Mythic Tier Character Skins (including but not limited to Spectre - T3, Templar, Siren, etc.)
【Trigger Scenario】 In Multiplayer (MP) Matches, when triggering any unique gesture, in-game emote, or specific weapon inspection animation.
- Issue Description & Poor Experience in Multiplayer (MP) Mode
Currently, in MP matches, the core selling point of all Mythic characters—the "Holographic Watch" visual effect—cuts out and extends completely beyond the physical edges of the screen whenever a unique gesture is triggered.
This visual bug severely compromises the competitive experience in fast-paced, high-intensity Multiplayer (MP) modes for the following reasons:
- Ruins Premium Visual Appeal: As the highest-tier vanity items in the game, the dynamic holographic wrist effects are the primary reason players purchase these skins. Having the graphics cut off and split outside the screen drastically ruins the satisfaction of owning a Mythic character.
- Creates Visual Blind Spots during Gunfights: In intense MP matches, the oversized, clipped holographic glare doesn't just look broken—it stretches incorrectly and creates a massive visual blind spot on the edge of the HUD. This blocks the player's peripheral vision, obscuring enemy movements and breaking focus during recoil control.
- Forced Settings Compromise: While players can temporarily alleviate this by maxing out the "First-Person Weapon FOV" or turning on "Screen Edge Margins," doing so alters the physical stretching of the gun model. This forces MP players into a frustrating compromise: endure broken premium visuals or change their muscle-memory weapon viewing angles.
- Technical Solution Proposal: Implement an "Independent Holographic Overlay Layer"
The current engine rendering logic locks the holographic effects onto the 3D arm skeleton asset, causing stretching and clipping on modern long-screen or foldable devices. We strongly urge the development team to restructure this via the following technical solution:
- The Proposed Solution: Restructure as a 2.5D/3D Hybrid Overlay Layer
- Detach the Mythic watch's holographic assets from the base 3D character arm model layer. Reconstruct them onto a dedicated, independent Overlay Layer with a restricted, locked Viewport.
- Expected Outcome: No matter how an MP player tinkers with their First-Person Weapon FOV or screen resolution, the arms and weapons can stretch freely, but the holographic clock effects will remain permanently constrained within a safe, visible UI bounding box. Even if the character's wrist moves to the absolute edge of the screen, the algorithm will scale and render the watch safely within view, fully immune to aspect-ratio clipping.
- Future Feature Request: Dedicated UI/HUD Experiences for Future Mythic Characters
To truly elevate the value of Mythic Tier characters and move away from restrictive wrist-bound assets, we highly hope that the next upcoming Mythic character introduces a completely unique, fully customized screen UI/HUD experience.
- The Concept: Instead of relying solely on physical 3D wristwatches that can clip out of the camera's view, the next Mythic character could feature an exclusive tactical overlay on the player's actual screen UI (such as custom sci-fi border elements, localized kill-feed visual upgrades, or unique stat-trackers integrated directly into the safe area of the screen).
- The Benefit: This would completely bypass device aspect-ratio limitations, guarantee perfect visibility across all phones and tablets, and provide a truly revolutionary, immersive first-person aesthetic worthy of the Mythic title.
- Conclusion
Mythic characters represent the highest tier of cosmetic investments in CODM, and their visual performance should be flawless. The fact that this clipping obstructs vital gameplay vision in MP matches makes it an urgent matter. We kindly ask the TiMi Studios technical team to prioritize this rendering flaw and consider our proposal for dedicated UI upgrades for the next Mythic release. Thank you!
