Moving from DC —> DSM

28M from Nebraska, found an opportunity to move back out west after leaving Nebraska to go to DC for grad school and work—I’ve done my time in DC and am super excited to come back to a slower pace of life and be closer to family.

I’ve gone through the wiki, done my research and plan on touring apartments this weekend. Any must stops while I’m visiting?

Other questions:

1. Huge sports guy, especially soccer and football, any good sports bar recommendations?

2. DC is huge on adult sports leagues and run clubs, anything similar in DSM? ie. Rec soccer, kickball, softball, run clubs?

3. Other ways to socialize? My closest friends are in Omaha, any other ways to expand my social circle? I’ve noted the DSM thread on this. Making friends will be huge.

4. How’s the farmers markets? We have some great ones in DC but I’ve heard the DSM one’s are equally good.

5. Dating… how’s the apps? Speed dating is common in DC, anything similar in DSM? Definitely thinking about settling down in a couple years or so.
