Ghanaian applying for German student visa: day of birth differs on BECE and WASSCE

Hi everyone,

I am a Ghanaian preparing a German student visa application, and the German Mission requires me to submit my regular BECE and WASSCE certificates.
The day part of my date of birth is incorrect on my BECE certificate. The month and year are correct. My WASSCE certificate, passport, Ghana Card, birth certificate and later academic documents all show the correct date of birth.

I do not want to alter the BECE certificate or hide the discrepancy. The visa portal has an “Other documents” section where I can upload an explanation and supporting documents.

Has anyone dealt with a similar BECE or WASSCE date-of-birth discrepancy when applying for a German student visa, another European visa or university admission? What did you submit, and was it accepted?

I would especially appreciate responses from people who have personally handled a similar Ghanaian document discrepancy.
