Turn Based JRPG with mature tone (Steam)

Question

I have rarely played turn based JRPGs because the combat didn't click with me, but I have just started playing Octopath Traveler 2. I'm about 9 hours in and I like the game besides the fact that every 10 steps I make trying to explore and find chests I get jumped, but I'm getting used to it.

Now I'm, thinking I would love to play a game like this, but with a real mature story. Something like Expedition 33 or Judgment, but turn based.

Is Like a Dragon series like this? I would also love something like Fear and Hunger, but I guess that's too hard and takes a lot of time to learn.
