App advice

Hi guys, I just got the DJI Osmo Nano action camera, and only after, started hearing about all the horror stories related to the MIMO app.

I am going to be installing it this weekend after I get back from work, to see if it's as terrible as I've heard, but I just wanted to ask if there have been any improvements over the past year, as most of the complaints I saw were over 1-2 years old.

Also, the QR code in the instructions leads me to the DJI site to install, not the play store where it is also available. If I'm going to be using it on Android, is it ok to install the play store one, or should I go with the one from the DJI site instead?
