Joining SJU late

Hey everyone, taking late admission at SJU Bangalore and trying to sort things out quickly.

1. Do departments help late joiners catch up on missed lectures/attendance
2. Are on-campus hostels full by now? If so, what are the best nearby spots or specific PGs for guys to check out?
