Used the Fitbit air for a week here is my review

I've been using the Fitbit Air for about a week now (ordered it from Amazon UK), so I thought I'd share my experience in case anyone is planning to buy one.

1)The first thing that really impressed me was the sleep tracking. It's honestly one of the best features of this band. The data has been pretty consistent, and it matches my sleep schedule quite well.

2)Another thing I liked is how light it is. After wearing it for a while, you almost forget it's on your wrist. It's comfortable enough to wear all day and while sleeping.

3)Now, coming to activity tracking. I play badminton almost every day, and I noticed that the automatic detection isn't that accurate. It does recognize some movement, but if you want proper stats, it's better to manually start or log the workout in the Fitbit app.

The same goes for gym sessions. I found that manually selecting the workout gives much better tracking than relying on auto detection.

4)Step counting has been good overall. Like most wrist-based fitness bands, it sometimes counts hand movements as steps if you're sitting and moving your hands a lot. But while actually walking or running, the step count has been surprisingly accurate.

5)Heart rate tracking has also been solid. During badminton and workouts, it updated quickly and I didn't notice any weird spikes or drops.

One thing I discovered that might help someone else.

I was travelling recently, charged the band to 100%, and left the charger at home. Since I wasn't wearing the band, I kept it in my bag. After a few hours it seemed to shut down or go into some kind of deep sleep mode. Later, when I tried connecting it to my phone, it just wouldn't connect.

I searched online and found that once it enters that state, you need to plug it into the charger before it'll wake up and reconnect. So if you're travelling, I'd definitely recommend carrying the charger with you, just in case.

Overall, I'm happy with it after a week of use. The sleep tracking, comfort, and heart rate monitoring are excellent. Activity tracking could definitely be better, especially if you play sports or lift weights, but manually logging workouts solves most of that.

Just my experience after one week. Hope this helps someone.
