Teardrop trailer breaks problem

So I got massively boned on a new teardrop trailer I purchased from the dealer. Someone prior to my purchase had run my trailer with out the pin in the emergency break and completely burnt out the breaks. And I mean this thing is brand new 2026. It's also my first camper so I trusted the dealer like a dummy. The dealer and manufacturer have both given me a big f-you not our problem. The breaks are so burnt out it rolled freely and the dealer blamed the break controller on my wiring and break controller being bad and told me to go to my mechanic, which I did and we discovered the burnt out breaks. My mechanic ordered new drum breaks but they would take a few days to come in, I was already scheduled to leave on a 10 day road trip to Maine the next day when we discovered the issue. The trailer doesn't strictly need the breaks because it's only 1500lbs, 2k loaded up, so my mechanic told me I should be all good from a towing safety regard with out the breaks working. I started my road trip no issues in almost 750 miles then on the last stretch into Maine 20 miles from our campsite I get waved over by a guy who says my tire is smoking. Well lo and behold one of the dead breaks sprang to life was over heating and cooked the oil around my bearings. I unplugged the trailer and that released the breaks, it was late in the evening so I let them cool off and then just drove the last 20 miles to my campsite where I currently am. I'm basically so far north in Maine I could fart into Canada. Only small towns for hours. Mechanics will be opening up soon. Do I need to find full on new breaks before I head back? If I can't do that, I have a buddy 4 hours down the road I can have Amazon ship a bearing buddy grease gun and a 7 round to 4 pin adapter since the 4 pin won't send electric to the breaks this would work right? Kind of worried about driving for 4 hours with funky grease on my bearings. Help.
