Solicitor instructed estate agent to take purchaser to view our house the day after we left the country

I am looking some opinions on if this is as disrespectful and crazy as I think it is!

So after months of waiting we were due to complete on the Friday, we moved most items into storage and vacated the house on the Monday, with a couple of personal items left behind and cleaning needed. We gave the key to the estate agent and signed all paperwork for legal completion before we left.

I get a text message from the estate agent on the Tuesday (a day after we leave the country) to say he’s been told by the solicitor (our one - the one we are paying) to take the purchaser around the house and make sure they’re happy with what’s been left etc before completion on Friday. I have no problem with the purchaser wishing to view the biggest purchase of their lives again, it’s just odd how it’s been left until we are out of the country and to check if we have left what we legally said we were going to leave.

I instruct him not to without one of our family members there. He doesn’t reply and goes ahead anyway. Radio silence from him and the solicitors, multiple phone calls, e mails etc. House completes and money arrives in the bank.

My initial thoughts were there was no way our solicitor would advise a viewing behind our backs to double check we were honest in the inventory and didn’t take off with the carpets and built in furniture. I submitted a complaint to the estate agent - no response. Submitted another before referring it to the property ombudsman to which he replied confused what the issue was. Now I’ve got a phonecall from the solicitor confirming it was him and he also didn’t see what the issue was. I explained how disrespectful and unprofessional it was that without our prior knowledge or consent two strangers were traipsing around our home.

Am I crazy or am I being gaslit?!
