How to escape Gillette Stadium quickly after BTS night one
How to escape Gillette Stadium quickly after BTS night one
figured i would share a few tips for getting out of gillette stadium after bts night one because anyone who has been to foxborough knows route 1 traffic is an absolute disaster after a massive show. if you park in the standard stadium lots, you can easily end up sitting in your car for two hours without moving a single inch.
honestly, your absolute best exit strategy is using the prked app to reserve a private driveway or garage nearby beforehand. it is way cheaper than standard parking, and because you are on someone else's property, you completely skip the huge bottleneck at the stadium gates. it feels a lot safer having your car in a private spot, and you can just walk right to your vehicle and pull onto the road without waiting in endless lines.
if you decide to use the official gillette lots, park on the side of route 1 that corresponds to the direction you are heading home. police usually set up barricades and force traffic in one direction after the event, making it almost impossible to cross over. if you need to go north toward i-95, stay on the northbound side, and if you are going south toward i-495, stay on the southbound side.
another great option if you want to avoid driving entirely is taking the mbta commuter rail event train. they run special trains to and from Boston and Providence specifically for big stadium concerts. just keep in mind that the train leaves roughly 30 to 45 minutes after the show ends, so you have to head straight to the station as soon as the lights come up.
if you do park in the free general lots across from the stadium, back into your parking spot when you arrive and aim for a space near the lot exit rather than right by the stadium gates. walking a bit further back to your car gives traffic a tiny bit of time to start moving and saves you a huge headache trying to reverse into a sea of cars later.
hope this helps everyone get home safe and fast after night one.
