Future WOFT Applicant Seeking Advice and Army Aviators Stationed in Korea
Hi everyone,
I'm currently living in South Korea and have been working with a U.S. Army recruiter. My timeline is a little delayed due to scheduling, so I'm planning to take the ASVAB and SIFT in September while I continue preparing my WOFT packet.
I had a couple of questions for those who have applied recently or are familiar with the current selection process.
I've spoken with a few recent applicants, and one mentioned that during a recent board only 2 out of 28 applicants were selected. That seemed surprisingly competitive to me, so I was wondering if that's actually representative of the current acceptance rate or if it was just an unusually competitive board.
Also, since I'm based in Korea, I'm hoping to connect with a current Army aviator for advice and, if possible, an interview for my WOFT packet. If anyone is currently stationed in Korea or knows someone who is and would be willing to help or point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.
I'm not looking to ask for letters of recommendation right away. My goal is simply to start building connections, learn from those with experience, and gain a better understanding of Army Aviation. Since there are far fewer Army aviators stationed in Korea compared to the U.S., I figured it would be wise to start networking early.
Thanks in advance for any insight or advice!
