[FL] Tension w/ Landlord

Hi all - not really looking for any “legal” advice because I don’t necessarily have the money or energy to deal with it. I guess I’m just venting and wanting any sort of reassurance. I moved in 2 months ago to a duplex (completely separate driveways and entrances on opposite sides of the road) and it’s been so frustrating. Every single week there has been some sort of issue regarding maintenance or neighbors. My landlord was nice at first but after constant issues, he’s been a jerk and making us feel like the problem.

The biggest issue I’m having right now is that this dumbass didn’t even know that the other unit didn’t have a separate mailbox … so the neighbor kept coming into my driveway and digging through my mailbox for her mail. After I pressed on my landlord for weeks he finally installed a new mailbox at the other unit and claimed he didn’t even know we were sharing a mailbox. This too happened with the trash cans and since then the neighbor has moved her trash cans to her side. (The previous tenant was one of her friends so i guess they didn’t mind sharing trash cans and mailboxes???)

I explained to him that we both know this place wasn’t ready for move in and asked him for a lease revision (12 months to 6) and he said no.

Fast forward a week after the mailbox’s are installed - i caught this neighbor coming into my driveway and my mailbox checking for the mail again, 2x yesterday and the day before that. I told my landlord (again) and he tried to say that it was it he said she said because the neighbor denies it and that I need to get a camera.

I’m so exhausted because this isn’t the only thing going on in my life. Im non confrontational and my anxiety has been through the roof. I feel bad for causing “tension”, I’m pissed because I know he’s in the wrong, I feel defeated because let’s be real, it’s probably not worth the legal trouble.

Any reassuring advice or thoughts? Any landlord BS you guys have had to deal with? I’m only on 2 of 12 months and can’t keep doing this to myself everyday. Thanks for reading!
