What's one thing about an MBA that everyone hypes up, but isn't as great as people make it seem?
Before joining an MBA, I kept hearing the same things:
- "Your network will change your life."
- "The peer group is the biggest advantage."
- "Placements make the investment worth it."
- "These will be the best two years of your life."
- "An MBA completely changes your career."
But I wonder how much of that is actual experience and how much is just repeated because everyone says it.
For those who've already been through an MBA:
- What was the biggest reality check?
- What turned out to be overhyped?
- And what was something nobody talked about that ended up being far more valuable than you expected?
Not trying to start an "MBA is good vs MBA is bad" debate.
I'm more interested in the gap between marketing, expectations, and reality, so future applicants can make more informed decisions.
