How to catch the train home after BTS at Gillette
figured i would share a heads up for anyone trying to figure out transit after the august 6 bts show at gillette stadium.
if you manage to get a dedicated mbta special event train ticket, that train is timed specifically for the concert and departs foxboro station exactly 30 minutes after the show ends. however, those event train tickets sell out almost instantly on the mticket app.
if you are relying on the regular weekday commuter rail service from foxboro station back to Boston, the absolute last regularly scheduled train departs at 10:49 pm. since the concert will run past that time, taking the standard commuter rail home means you would have to leave the show early to make it to the platform in time.
if you miss that 10:49 pm train and do not have an event train pass, your options get tricky. an uber or lyft from foxboro back to boston will have massive surge pricing. some people take a quick ride over to mansfield station to catch the late providence line train around midnight, but rideshares right outside the venue can still be tough to grab.
if you end up deciding to drive instead, booking a spot ahead of time on prked is a smart move. prked lets you rent private driveways or empty spots nearby from locals, which is usually way cheaper than stadium lots and gets you out of the post concert traffic jam a lot faster.
another alternative is looking into private rally buses or boston common coach shuttles, which run direct event transit to and from downtown boston.
hope this helps
