It finally happened: a bailiff showed up on my doorstep.

Admin, School, Career

I've always been horrible with my finances, but I've been getting better at remembering bills and payments in the past years. Not enough apparently, because a bailiff just showed up for the first time about missed health insurance payments. Fortunately I am home alone and my parents aren't here, but I'm just so ashamed right now. I'm shaking and I'm not even sure I can make the payment on time to avoid court.

I just feel like there's no way out, and like what I've been doing in the past year to manage my ADHD and get better at being an adult is not enough. Like I'll never be able to function. I'm in my mid-twenties, jobless, living at my parents for f's sake, and incredibly broke. I really thought I was getting things back on the rails: volunteering, in therapy, and going back to university soon, but none of that matters or will change anything if I keep messing up like this.

I'm just so incredibly ashamed right now, and I needed to get this out somewhere. There is no one in my life I can tell or ask for help, and I'm hoping someone here has gone through something similar and managed. Please, if anyone has any advice, I could really use some.
