Period stopped immediately with mirena?

Wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Context: almost 3 years ago I got my first IUD directly after the birth of my son (like 9 weeks postpartum) went great, had some minor bleeding afterwards but after that never got periods, and if I did they were extremely light. I got it taken out to conceive my second child, who is now 6 weeks old. I started my period HEAVY 3 days before my IUD appt. During the appt my period was flowing like crazy, but right after the appt, my period stopped completely? I know IUDs stop periods, but same day? I went from the heaviest period of my life to nothing at all within an hour and it kinda had me spooked lol. Has this happened to anyone else?
