Can I collect my passport from the German Consulate in Chennai even if I opted for courier?

Hi everyone,

I applied for a German student visa through VFS Chennai and opted for the courier service when I submitted my application.

However, my hometown is about 8 hours away from Chennai, and I'm currently staying in Chennai. Once my visa is approved, I'd rather collect my passport directly instead of having it couriered to my hometown.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Were you able to collect your passport from the German Consulate or VFS even though you had selected courier service during your application?

I'd appreciate hearing about your experience. Thanks!
