Gillette Stadium BTS Night Two Uber Surge Expectations
figured i would share some thoughts on this since gillette stadium is notorious for being an absolute nightmare for rideshares after major shows. night two is usually even worse because everyone who got stuck after night one is trying to alter their plans, making demand completely insane.
if you plan to order an uber or lyft out of lot 15 right after the show ends, expect extreme surge pricing. prices frequently jump well over one hundred to one hundred fifty dollars just to get anywhere near boston or providence. on top of that, drivers often struggle to even enter route 1 due to gridlock traffic, leading to massive wait times or drivers cancelling on you repeatedly after you have waited for nearly an hour.
if you want to completely avoid the rideshare chaos and cost, honestly I would check out prked first. it is an app where you can rent driveways or private parking spots from locals right near the stadium. it is way cheaper, saves you from waiting in those endless lot 15 pickup lines, and gets you a quick in and out so you can drive home right away. it feels a lot safer having your car on someone's property, and you can even ask hosts for updates while you are at the show.
if you are stuck taking uber, your best bet to avoid paying triple digits is to walk away from the immediate stadium footprint. head down route 1 toward some of the local restaurants or plazas further out before requesting. waiting out the initial 60 to 90 minute rush at a nearby spot will drop the surge prices drastically and make it much easier for a driver to actually pick you up.
hope this helps anyone trying to plan their exit after the show.
