*"I knew already how society behaves, how things work around here. In the middle of the crowd, I was observing a phenomenon happening, quite scary, and yet fascinating. The Truth in jeopardy... what to really make of it ?..."*

I noticed something happening more and more as the days go by : the Truth is being lost. It was already quite a subject not easy to grasp, but it seems things are taking other proportions in the society we live in today. Let's dive in this matter, and find out what to really think about it.

**Chapter 1 : the past of our parents**

Recently, my mother was showing to me pictures she took with other family members some months ago. Despite their age, they wanted to visit an old place where their grandparents used to work back then, to retrieve materials from the mines. Along the pictures took outside, were also some that got taken in a sort-of little museum, showing the tools used there to drill and excavate the ores ; and also old pictures showing people working in the mines.

Today, the mines are filled with a nearly yellow-ish water. The past literally drowned ; anyone who walk by and see these water areas would never realise how much went into there. The crazy number of hours people digged there, the leaks that had to be dealt with, the wagons that had to be pushed by men and pulled by horses ; resulting many times in broken legs and arms, or even dead horses and men.

There are still the ruins of buildings, along with some blocks, and a sealed gate. All going into dust, all belonging to a past not far from us, and that pushed further our society in some way, even if it was in a small town, along with the rest. A past that shaped our parents, made us born and live in what we're walking in and using today.

And that makes wonder : who is going to remember somewhere this mark of the past ? Who is going to take the time to take a step back today, and be able to carry over the wisest way the fruits of our ancestors ? Of course we have our lives to do, but it's something that can't be ignored ; forgetting what our parents did would be the same thing as saying that our efforts right now would be for nothing at the end. It offers quite a reflection on that matter...

**Chapter 2 : John Jones and the Nutty Putty cave**

But the notion of the past, and the Truth lying underneath, go even further ; when we take a look at what can happen even more close to us, and how society deal with it. One vivid example that come to mind is what happened to John Jones in the Nutty Putty cave.

In 2009, a group of people went into the Nutty Putty to explore it. It was opened so it could be explored in a sort of chill way, moreover after adjustements that got recently made. Everything went fine, until someone named John Jones took a wrong direction : thinking he took the right track, he went into a narrow tunnel that went down. He took the tunnel, but as he went down, he felt he had no choice but to continue forward, thinking it would end naturally in a more opened space. But it turns out he ended in a down-slope passage, unable to move or get out of there. From there, people called emergency, and a hundred people arrived in an attempt to get him out of there... for 27 hours. Unfortunaly, after many attempts, John died from being in such position for too long, resulting in his organs, brain and blood being the victim of weight and gravity. After this event, the cave got sealed, becoming the natural grave of John Jones today.

That's basically what happened. But from there, what's intriguing is how things happened, what people thought of it, and cherry at the top how things are going on today about it.

During the intervention, a pulley system got thought to be put in place to extract John from the slope. Everything was put into place, the extraction began and everything went fine, until at one point one of the device in the system detached from the tunnel, losing all the progress made. At least, that's what I could read back then.

And here is the crux of the matter : when we don't know anymore what really happened. I remember visiting a website last year where the last rescuer wrote his entire side of the story, sharing pictures, and answering questions people had. I tried recently to find it again, but couldn't. Instead, I landed on a website similar to it, but filled with quotes from people who shared their experience during this event. Obviously, we can see talks that share similar stuff, but can also naturally deviate from the course of events, with subjectivity, point of view and facts that got altered in a way or another. From someone that had better chances to be relied on, we are now with a bunch of quotes that would need efforts to gather to pull out a vague major "truth" about how things happened there. The whole thing, by being this vague, became not reliable.

Furthermore, people asked many questions to the last rescuer back then, many skeptical about what really happened. Some of them wondered if this was a sabotage, if someone brought John Jones to the wrong direction on purpose, if some parts of the story got veiled on purpose. And in top of this, at one point in time, some people desecrated the grave of John Jones by vandalising and tagging the decorated ciment-clogged entry. The reason ? Because this cave was "a lot of fun" and "because of this foolish person, now we can't have fun anymore". Different ways to behave in front of such scene, I guess.

And in top of all of this, the vagueness couldn't be higher when we see on google images that this event, mixed with the world of Internet and social networks, bring results that completely twist the reality : gross maps, wrong picture associations, people talking about this in a rush just to get views and likes. It's interesting to see how the Internet show how much people can be so blind to the reality of an event. There are obviously reasons here and there about why and how all of this happen, but where to draw the line is becoming something more and more crucial to take account, in order to not lose the real sight and sense of what's really happening.

**Chapter 3 : "Omar m'a tuer"**

And this is something even more apparent when we take a look at a murder case. One famous example is "Omar m'a tuer", one if not the most puzzling murder that happened in France in 1991.

Basically, a woman was expected to be with other people for a lunch, but didn't come. After several hours, people called the police for investigation. They went to her house, and to the cellar, where the door was not openable easily. After some efforts, police succeded to get inside, and found the lying body of the woman, in a bath of blood. On two doors, they found the major clue of this case : the sentence "Omar m'a tuer" written in blood ("Omar killed me" but wrongly written in french, instead of an infinitive verb it should have been "Omar m'a tuée"). It took not long for the inspectors to target as the main suspect the gardener of the killed woman, Omar Raddad. After investigation and a trial, he got sentenced to 18 years in prison ; but partially pardoned by the president in 1996, he got out of jail in 1998 as part of a conditional release.

This case remains one of the most controversial cases in the French justice system, being still unsolved for good, with many mysteries around it. Something to notice is how things went at some points during the early stages of this event.

When the members of the police got to talk about what they saw when they came in the cellar, one of them at one point mentioned the crowbar and the system that got put in place to firmly push the door. But this point got never mentioned before, he talked about it way later during the interrogation. The media was all around it, making so much pressure that it made dizzy everyone involved in this case and even people following it. Also, during the trial, one of the member declared something to put down Omar, after he said something in a harmless way from the Coran to claim his innocence. This caused the audience to go all over the place, causing the court to take a break.

Some clues, some stuff happening, some points of views, some testimonies, some money implied ; to this day, this case is still puzzling and mysterious to think about. But let's take a step back for a moment : it's really crazy first of all to realise that all of this could have been faken at one point or another. There are now so many stuff in this folder that it makes anyone head spin ; to make all of this entirely reliable makes quite of a challenge. Then, there is a crucial point to think about : what was the real motive of this murder ? According to the folder, it was because Omar was in a peculiar financial situation, having been in casinos around that time. But the thing is, it's a theory, and nothing concretely proove it to this day.

It can have been someone else, something else happening behind the scene, even the result of stuff that happened long time ago. Things are always coming to light at the proper time, but this story makes reflect on something really important : at the end of the day, nobody is able to judge anyone. Everyone has a reason to do something, whatever this can be. There is always a logic, a reasoning behind every aspect of an action, whatever it is. Even if the views are naturally different, they help shape a world, where things are moving. We do our best to make things great, and that's all what really matters. And this point become more crucial to think about, when we think about something that is going on recently today.

**Chapter 4 : when things are more A than I**

AI is nowadays something around us, a tool that offers ways to help with different tasks. Soon enough, the question came on the table about how to use such tool, and most of all the reflections that come out of it, that are just, at the end, the continuity of humanity evolution.

As soon as AI became popular, students began to use it to cheat in schools, to the point of seeing a complete change in education today. It was a topic that was already talked about, but under the table : no one really wanted to speak fully outloud about the meaning of school, all these years learning stuff that at the end, doesn't really matter, have no concrete value moreover when real life, parents, and later the Internet were showing more and more to children what's really going on outside. But with the natural desire to make things more neat and precise, AI came along, and immediatly, naturally, pupils started to use it to make their life simpler, by asking AI to do their homeworks. The big problem is, however, that it impacts the brain, something that got prooven by scientific studies. Not trained to learn and acquire knowledge, children present the risk to be completely unfit to do anything concrete in real life, because of not being technically able to know how to do things. That's why it became important real fast to know how to use such tool wisely.

In companies, when used correctly, AI can help produce and achieve more work than what a human can do. On one side, it offers new interesting opportunities ; but on the other, several points naturally appeared, and need to be clarified so it doesn't go wild. One crucial problem that appeared quickly is ecology : it needs a lot of electricity, and water to cooldown the datacenters. It's still something talked about today, where companies and users learn to be wise about their use of AI. It's a revolution, but that need to fit with the rest wisely in order to make full sense.

And that's what make AI a fascinating topic. It really asked humanity something extremely important : what do you really want to do for the future ? A real call to take a step back from everything going on, and remember important aspects of life itself that humanity tend to forget too much ; being always thinking and walking on the path, trying to find something nearby that they know important but can't fully grasp.

\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_

At the end, what really matters ? We already know the answer, but putting it in words is something different. To think about something is one thing ; to live it is also something different. Everyone has their life, their way to see things ; but the most important aspect of all, is to always remember that life has a sense, no matter how foggy, clear, dark or light it can be.

There will always be problems to solve, things to argue about, a Truth to seek ; but isn't that the interest of us being there, what makes us fully alive ? The points of views, the experience, the memory, the way to write things down, all of this can alter what's really happening ; and thus it will go on with the flow, shared with other people, that will live with it, and things will react and decant naturally with the rest. We become old, we pass the torch to younger generations that will discover and live with old and new stuff, like we did back then as a child. We need everyone and everything to make a world.

Don't be scared of death. Appreciate every moment of life, find the joy again by feeling every part of it. When old people are about to pass away, to the question "What is the thing that you regret the most ?", the thing that always come to their lips is : "I just regret to not have taken the time to fully live."

Be the way you are, never be scared to walk forward, let things come naturally to you, and appreciate being just there. "The most important thing is not the destination. It's the path."
