I'm not young anymore, and this isn't socially acceptable 🥂
When I was like 18-21 this could still be seen as a slip up on the road to success or "every student goes crazy with drinking". But now I'm nearly 23, not a student anymore and still an alcoholic loser showing no signs of being able to leave her parents' house or get out from under their "control" (I say control lightly because they don't control me in an abusive way, they just see me as a wholly incapable child and feel the need to step in to protect me, and they're probably right that I wouldn't survive on my own).
I've far surpassed the age when this was socially acceptable. I started looking for proper jobs to at least get out of that dreadful shop but all require 5 years office experience to hire you and I can't get 5 years years experience if no office will hire me without it. Here's to a sixth summer of being 16! 🥂
