Image crops after secondary monitor turned off

I have Lenovo Idepad Slim 5 laptop running Linux Mint 22.3 - Cinnamon 64-bit.

I have a Dell monitor connected via hdmi to laptop, everytime after I close the laptop lid, or turn off and on the monitor, the only image I see after that is a very cropped version of the login screen, only on the attached monitor, and laptop monitor is not displaying anything. Sometimes I can't even login, and after login no key works or even mouse.

How can I fix this?
