Ignition timing issue? Looking forward factory spec.
Hey everyone, I’m in the process of rebuilding my Navi after it was purchased non-running. I’m embarrassed to admit I didnt tighten the flywheel down, took it for a quick spin, and the flywheel/fan came loose.
it appears that I didn’t cause any damage to the flywheel, crank or anything major, but now the bike isn’t running. My biggest suspicion is the flywheel hit the ignition timing sensor and either damaged it or bent the bracket. I’m hoping to find the correct gap between the flywheel and sensor. I can’t find this info anywhere, and if anyone is willing to check with a feeler gauge I’d much appreciate it!
(more info) the engine has been rebuilt, it ran on my brief test ride, died after I opened up the throttle. Later discovered the flywheel was the problem. Engine top end has been rebuilt since, verified timing and valve clearances. Carb has been rebuilt, and I have verified I’m getting spark. Compression feels good, so I’m pretty sure I’m dealing with a spark timing issue.
