Ballyhornan Barracks

What is the story with the old barracks at Ballyhornan? I visit Ballyhornan often and see houses come up in the kind of commune vibe old barrack site every few months, and theyre always cash only as I think those streets are not officially incorporated in council services (which seems mad in 2026).

Does anyone like there, or know folks that do? It seems like a really weird set up and would be good to know if I should drop the pipe dream of living there one day.
