Meta Allowed Scammers to Advertise On Their Platforms
The problem with Meta is they would rather earn money than maintain integrity.
Here is an example.
This Ad appeared in Instagram - impersonating Garmin pretending to sell a watch called Garmin Venu 3 for just ₱ 1,999. The problem - it's a scam.
Garmin does not have a website called GarminPhStore.shop , this is a scammer's site impersonating Garmin. The real website for Garmin Philippines is ph.garmin.com and the Garmin Venu 3 sells for ₱ 27,000.
Left is the Instagram Ad by the scammers, rights the real Garmin website.
This scam is particularly targeting Filipinos. If you click on the "Buy" button, this website will steal your credit card details and you will never receive any watch.
If you click on the Instagram ad you'll be redirected to GarminPhStore.shop which is the scammer site. Do not even attempt to click or buy anything there. You'll lose more than ₱1,999.
The more insidious is Meta is intentionally allowing these scammers to post ads on their platforms. This only shows Meta is only after profits and not concerned about reliability of content on their platforms. They say people who see them can report them to Meta but the damage is usually done before it even gets reported. That is bullshit - it's like allowing thieves to steal your money and they only act when there are victims.
This is the reason why you should not trust contents in social media.
