AITA for wanting to ask my teachers I want to do alternative options for artistic assignments

I(18) am currently in college and luckily taking prelimnary classes in my university. I am keeping my field a secret, but it's a science major. I am worrying about assignments that involve art.

So I have a personal to never make art again experiences involving bullying and my family being more surperior on it than me. My art skills always looked like a child's. My parents often compared me to my siblings (who are better than me) and others who were more talented. I gave up totally on making art because I don't want to be reminded I will never be good enough.

I want to navigate through school by staying loyal to that vow while getting passing grades. I have plans to discuss with teachers I'm never making any assignments related to art so I'll ask for alternatives instead.
