I guess we should discuss this.
Another TADC fan song has been getting a lot of hate recently and has become very controversial. So, about a month ago, a fan song called Mom Friend released. Mom Friend was written and animated by KittenSneeze and released 2 days after The Last Act premiered in cinemas. The song talks about Ragatha's struggles with being there for everyone and dealing with her past with her mother.
Well, since the song released, it got insane backlash. Mostly because of the creator of the song, KittenSneeze. Apparently KittenSneeze has been called out for supremacism and racism across different platforms and Mom Friend became part of that controversy.
Mom Friend was criticized mostly for it's lyrics. The lyrics "but, I'm the Mom Friend, i'm the one you call when someone takes a fall, and i'm there to ask you if you're okay" were seen as hypocritical and strange, considering the KittenSneeze situation.
After Mom Friend released, it wasn't just KittenSneeze that was involved, but the voice actors in the song too.
Lizzie Freeman (voice of Pomni) was involved in the controversy of the song. Lizzie announced that she was stepping away from fan songs permanently, which is sad, but understandable. We can only assume she stepped back because of the toxic ways of the internet and people who hate KittenSneeze for what she did.
This song shouldn't have gotten backlash. It's understandable why it got backlash, but criticizing a music video and criticizing a song artist are two different things. What do you guys think, though?
