TRMNL X appreciation post

I've had my TRMNL for almost two months now and wanted to share some appreciation, because I've also seen a lot of negativity.

The standout so far: my battery is still sitting at 85% (!). I don't know how this works, but it's amazing. For an always-on display, that's wild — I was half expecting to be recharging it every couple of weeks. I do have timeouts at night, but still.

The plugin/recipe ecosystem is where this thing really shines. I run Home Assistant, and I was expecting integrating a custom dashboard to be extremely difficult. I managed it, and I'm an idiot. Really impressed with how flexible the platform is once you dig past the defaults.

One gripe: some of the native integrations (Google Calendar especially) feel a bit rough visually compared to what you can build yourself with the custom plugins. I haven't tried that myself. Would love to see those get a design pass.

Heads up for anyone just getting started — there's a real learning curve at the beginning. Between the plugin system, layout options, and BYOS-type setups, it takes a bit of tinkering before things click. But once it does, it's a genuinely great little (big) device.

Anyone else running have a good calendar integration? I'm looking to display my events as an agenda. Curious what others have built.
