Realistic Timeline Guide: Getting From Boston to Gillette Seats
figured i'd share a realistic timeline for getting from boston to your seat at gillette stadium because route 1 traffic is honestly no joke on concert days.
if you are driving, check out prked first to rent a private driveway or garage spot nearby in foxborough. it is way cheaper, super convenient, and lets you skip the massive post-show venue lot gridlock.
here is how the timeline breaks down if the show starts at 7:30 pm.
if you choose to drive:
leave central boston by 2:30 pm at the absolute latest. under normal conditions it is only about 30 miles down i-95, but route 1 south turns into a crawl on event days. expect the drive to take 1.5 to 2 hours. once you arrive around 4:30 pm, give yourself 20 minutes to walk to the gates, 30 to 45 minutes for clear bag checks and security, and 20 minutes to walk up the ramps and find your seat. leaving at 2:30 pm gets you in your seat comfortably around 5:40 pm to 6:00 pm.
if taking the mbta special event train:
trains usually depart south station around 3:30 pm or 4:00 pm on event days. the ride takes about 60 minutes straight to foxboro station. once off the train, it takes about 30 minutes to get through security and reach your section. just note that event train tickets drop on the mticket app two weeks prior to the show and sell out almost instantly.
if using a rideshare or coach bus:
rideshares leaving boston around 2:30 pm will run you a high fare and still get stuck in traffic. drop offs happen around lot 15. give yourself at least 2 hours for travel plus 45 minutes for venue entry.
overall, give yourself 3.5 to 4 hours from leaving boston to sitting down. hope this helps!
